A Model School, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandir Katihar (affiliated to CBSE from 3rd to 12th class) is being run on Public school pattern in our center at Katihar giving value based education to students, to ensure their all-round development, to make them physically strong, mentally agile, culturally enriched, to imbibe in them a spirit of independence and pride so that they can stand on their own feet and proudly join the main stream of the nation as a good citizens. The present student strength of the school is 876 (782 boys and 94 girls). Sports and Co-Curricular Activity

In addition to educational activities, our boys are also provided special training in sports like Kabaddi, Volley ball, Gymnastics, Athletics, Football etc. There are two large playgrounds for the students to play simultaneously various sports. During November every year annual Sports Meet is conducted in which not only the current students of Vidyamandir participate but also alumni students are allowed to take part. Few events are organized for guardians and teachers also. We also provides students training in Hindustani music, both vocal and instrumental, in local folk dance, various arts, gardening etc. The school's band is judged good by the parents.

Cultural Functions

Celebration of different events and festivals of religious and national importance throughout the year such as the Republic Day, Independence Day, Teacher's Day, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Birthday, Saraswati Puja, the anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Maa Sarada, Swami Vivekananda etc. with grandeur and solemnity form part of the attractive features of our institution.

Excursions and Diversions

This apart, the school sends its students on excursions to different parts of Bihar as well as other states in the country, as and when possible, so as to enable them to familiarize themselves with the diverse cultural traditions giving uniqueness, color and vibrancy to our composite Indian culture.
